Shambhu Shikhar’s Hasya Kavi Sammelan Solo Show at AIIMS Sarita Vihar Was a Blockbuster: Even Doctors Were in Splits
Fountains of laughter all night and thunderous applause. Comedian Shambhu Shikhar’s solo show at the All India Institute of Ayurveda, Sarita Vihar proved that whether it’s OT stress or EMI stress, the best medicine is laughter.

The AIIA Sarita Vihar auditorium was packed from 7 PM itself. This time, the audience wasn’t just the general public. The Institute’s Director along with many senior surgeons and doctors were also present. The front row in white coats seemed to be enjoying it the most.
As Shambhu took the stage, he said – “Today I have two kinds of people in front of me. One who check people’s BP, and the other whose BP I’m going to raise.”
For the next 90 minutes, the hall echoed only with laughter and whistles.
Content That Struck a Chord
Shambhu’s new material was on “Ghar, Shaadi aur EMI” – Home, Marriage and EMIs. He presented middle-class life, office meetings, relatives asking “Beta, got a job yet?” and Delhi traffic in his signature style.
He had a special segment for the doctors: “Sir, the patient says ‘cure me in 2 days’. And at home they say ‘pay the EMI in 2 days’. You tell me, which one has more pressure?”
This joke had the Director and the entire row of doctors clapping and laughing.
The biggest round of applause came for: “Only after buying a flat in Noida Extension do you realize that dreams aren’t expensive, the property registration is.”
His crowd work was also a blockbuster. He spent 5 minutes chatting with a surgeon couple in the front row, which had the entire hall in splits.

His next show is in Mumbai, but Delhi-NCR fans — and now doctors too — are already waiting for the next date.
