Hasya Kavi Sanjay Khatri is one of the most popular and in-demand faces of the modern Hasya Kavi Sammelan circuit in India. Based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, he is known as the “Kale Kavi” by his fans with love, and he himself uses this identity as his biggest weapon of comedy. The Dark Horse of Laughter Who Makes India ROFL.
What makes Sanjay Khatri different from other poets is his style. His performance is not just poetry, it is a complete package of Hasya, Vyangya, Storytelling, and high-voltage energy. He does not need big topics. He picks up very common subjects – husband-wife nok-jhok, saas-bahu, suhaagraat, aadhi raat ko patni ke bhaav badhna, premika ka loot lena, and turns them into non-stop laughter bombs. His punchlines are so desi and relatable that every person in the audience feels – “Ye to mere ghar ki kahani hai.”
Sanjay Khatri is a master of self-deprecating humor. He jokes on his own dark complexion, his own marital life, and his own struggles, and that is why the audience connects with him instantly. No vulgarity, no double meaning – only clean family comedy. That is the reason he is the first choice for Corporate Shows, PSU Programs, and Family Cultural Nights.
He is a regular performer on major TV channels like Wah! Kya Baat Hai, Hasya Kavi Sammelan shows on various channels, and YouTube superhit Kavi Sammelans where his videos have crossed millions of views. Titles like “Suhaagraat par patni se kaha…”, “Aadhi raat ko badhe patni ke bhaav”, “Is kaale kavi ne hansa-hansa kar maar dala” are very famous among the audience.
With more than 15 years of stage experience, Sanjay Khatri has performed in over 3000 shows across India and abroad. From NTPC, GAIL, BHEL like big PSUs to IIMs, IITs, Banks, and grand cultural festivals, his performance is always housefull. His performance duration is 60-90 minutes of pure laughter, where not a single minute is dull.
In a time when stand-up comedy is full of abusive language, Sanjay Khatri has kept the flag of traditional Hindi Hasya Kavita high and has taken it to the modern generation. He is truly a blend of tradition and modernity – a poet who respects the sahitya of Hindi but presents it in a language that today’s youth loves.
